How to Use Milbemax for Dogs

  • Weigh your dog for the right dosage.
  • Administer Milbemax orally as a single dose, with or after some food.
  • Have your dog checked for existing heartworm infection before beginning the heartworm prevention with this wormer.
  • The tablet can be given directly or in food, ensuring the dog takes the entire dose. If a part of the dose is missed, give another dose.
  • Administer Milbemax Tablets for Small Dogs and Puppies to dogs at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks of age and then continue regular treatment every 3 weeks or as recommended by the veterinarian.
  • Administer Milbemax Tablets for Large Dogs to dogs weighing over 11 lbs (5 Kg).
  • Nursing dogs should be treated at the same time as their puppies.
  • Adult dogs should be treated every 3 months.
  • Pregnant dogs should be treated at mating, 10 days before whelping and then at the same time as their puppies.
  • For dogs in hydatid areas, consult a veterinarian before use.
  • To prevent heartworm disease, administer it once every month, preferably on the same date.
  • If you are switching to Milbemax from a heartworm preventive containing DEC (Diethylcarbamazine citrate), administer the first dose of Milbemax within 30 days of transition.

For Dogs:

This canine wormer is not recommended for puppies younger than two weeks of age. The treatment is formulated for use in dogs only. Avoid using it on any other animal species. It is suitable for pregnant, breeding and lactating dogs.

Do not allow a dog to feed on offal from any species. It is not recommended to use tablets for small dogs and puppies in dogs weighing below 1.1 lbs (0.5 Kg). Similarly, avoid using tablets for large dogs in dogs weighing below 11 lbs (5.0 Kg).

If your dog has a known sensitivity to any of the active ingredients in the treatment, do not use this treatment. For effective worm control, treat all animals in the household. Talk to a veterinarian before using this wormer alongside macrocyclic lactones and other veterinary treatments.

My dog vomited after administration. What should I do?
