Vetafarm Scatt Mite Solution for Birds
Vetafarm Scatt is a specially formulated mite solution designed to effectively treat mite infestations in budgerigars, finches, canaries, and other small ornamental birds. It provides a gentle yet powerful solution to treat the two most commonly occurring mite infections in birds: scaly face mites (Knemidokoptes pilae) and air sac mites (Sternostoma tracheacolum).
Scaly face mite infection or burrowing mite infection often leads to the formation of lesions on the skin tissue and the cere due to keratin damage caused by mites. This may further damage the cere and infect the eyelids. Furthermore, the air sac mites affect the bird's respiratory system and suck blood from the air sacs. Both infections have deleterious effects on your birds, so immediate action is necessary to prevent further harm.
To help you with this condition, Vetafarm Scatt effectively eliminates existing mites on your birds. It's specially formulated to target mites, ensuring thorough eradication. Ingredients:
Moxidectin 1000 µ/ml
For Scaly Face Mite Treatment:
- Apply 1 drop of solution for birds weighing under 30 g (1oz).
- Apply 2 drops of solution for birds weighing between 30 and 100 g (1-4oz).
- Put drops directly on the skin of the thigh and rub it gently.
- Treat all birds in the aviary; this will help prevent the spread of infection.
- Re-treat in 21 days if the infection persists.
For Air Sac Mite Treatment:
- Apply 1 drop of solution for birds weighing under 30 g (1oz).
- Apply 2 drops of solution for birds weighing between 30 and 100 g (1-4oz).
- Put drops directly on the skin of the thigh and rub it gently.
- Treat the birds in the aviary to control the spread of infection.
- For best results, treat your birds 3–4 times a year.
