Heartgard Plus Chewable Large Dogs Ingredients
Heartgard Plus for Large Dogs 51-100 lbs heartworm and intestinal worm treatment is a blend of ivermectin and pyrantel. Ivermectin kills heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis), and thus stops larvae from growing and developing into adult heartworms, and thus prevents heartworm disease. Pyrantel, on the other hand treats and controls intestinal worms including roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), and hookworms ((Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, and Ancylostoma braziliense).
Heartgard Plus tablets are chewable, so very easy to administer. Just offer one tablet every month by hand (whole or broken) or alternatively mix it with the dog food. Only make sure your dog chews the tablet and does not swallow it.
