- Simparica Trio should be administered orally, as a single dose, once every month.
- You can administer the chew with or without food. When giving it with food, watch your dog to ensure the complete dose is consumed.
- When you forget a dose, give one dose immediately and continue with the monthly schedule.
- You can begin your dog's treatment with Simparica Trio at any time of the year when using it for flea, tick and flea tapeworm protection.
- For heartworm prevention, give Simparica Trio year-round. The chew should be given at least within one month after the dog's first exposure to mosquitoes and continuing until at least one month after the dog's last seasonal exposure.
- For uninterrupted protection, administer Simparica Trio throughout the year without interruption.

For Dogs:
Dogs should be tested for existing heartworms before beginning the treatment. Infected dogs should be treated to remove adult heartworms as per the vet's recommendation. The safety of Simparica Trio has not been evaluated in breeding, lactating and pregnant dogs. You should use Simparica Trio with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or other neurologic disorders. Do not use Simparica Trio in puppies and dogs under 8 weeks of age.
According to field studies, Simparica Trio was used together with anthelmintics, vaccines, antimicrobials, analgesics, antiprotozoals, anesthetic agents and NSAIDs without any side effects.
