Drontal Allwormer for Cats
Drontal for Cats is helpful to get rid of all types of gastrointestinal worms encompassing tapeworms, large worms and hookworms in cats and kittens. A single dose of this ingenious dewormer keeps cats free from worm infection in outdoor pets along with house pets. Each tablet of Drontal for Cats treats one 9 lbs (4 kg) cat for three months. The deworming treatment starts showing its effect in less than seven days of administration.

How It Works?
Drontal for Cats consists of Praziquantel and Pyrantel Embonate as the two active ingredients. Praziquantel is an anthelmintic which induces contraction of the tapeworms and flukes resulting in paralysis in the contracted state. The dying parasites are destroyed in the intestine and passed through the stool of the pet. Pyrantel Embonate acts as a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent thereby causing sudden contraction, followed by paralysis in hookworms and roundworms. This results in causing the worms to lose their grip on the intestinal wall and be passed out of the system by natural process. The worms usually pass in normal stool or with diarrhea, straining, and occasional vomiting. When both these active ingredients are combined together it results in total annihilation of gastrointestinal worms like tapeworms, large worms and hookworms from cats and kittens.
Ingredients: Praziquantel and Pyrantel Pamoate
- A single tablet per 9 lbs of body weight is standard
- If a cat weighs 13 lbs you will need to dose with 1 ½ tablets
- You can administer Drontal tablet orally or mix it in the cat food
- There is no need to fast before or after the treatment
- Kittens need to treated with Drontal Allwormer at 6, 8, 12 weeks of age then continuing every 3 months
- Adult cats need to be administered with this treatment regularly every 3 months
- For pregnant / lactating queens, treat before mating, 10 days prior kittening and 2 to 4 weeks after kittening
Dosage:
- For bodyweight 1.5-1.9 lbs - 1/4 tablet
- For bodyweight 2-3 lbs - 1/2 tablet
- For bodyweight 4-8 lbs - 1 tablet
- For bodyweight 9-12 lbs - 1 ½ tablets
- For bodyweight 13-16 lbs - 2 tablets
(Note: Administer one tablet per 9 lb bodyweight every 3 months for adults)
- Drontal Allwormer has no apparent side effects on senior cats and young kittens
- Keep the product at a place which is cool and dry
- Pets and children should be kept away from the deworming product
Contraindications:
- If your cat is allergic to the active ingredients of Drontal Dewormer then do not administer this treatment to them
- If your kitten is younger than 6 weeks of age do not administer this deworming treatment to them
- This deworming treatment is not apt for pregnant queens
